Gracie Cier

I was born in a small ski town in Park City, Utah. I grew up competitively skiing in freestyle moguls, and was always in the mountains. I became a ski coach for the Missoula Freestyle Ski Team in Missoula, Montana where I also attended school at the University of Montana.

To me, like many other passionate anglers, fly fishing is what I do and where I go to get away from the rest of the world. I get to be alone, and think about nothing but the fly on the water in front of me, and the fish swimming beneath me. It calms me down, and I look forward to it more than anything else in the whole world. It makes me so unbelievably happy! What could be better than standing in the most beautiful rivers, in the prettiest of places, and spending a few fleeting moments with the most amazing and fascinating creatures on earth? Nothing. Fly fishing has taken me to some of the coolest places I have ever been. It pushes me to explore the unknown, to places I never even knew existed. It is one of life’s greatest treasures. There is never a day that goes by where I don’t think about it. I dream about it, and wish I could go every single day for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, work keeps that from happening. Big bummer.
